Copynotes: They have their original late-18th c. boards covered in polished calf, and leather spine labels gilt stamped with the title, SPENSER'S FAERIE QUEENE, on red, and the volume number, in a rather elaborate setting, on green. Vols 2 and 3 have been rebacked in modern times; the boards of vol.1 are detached and the volume bound up with tape.
